The wheelchair basketball players of the BG Baskets convey the topics of integration and inclusion in a fun way.
The wheelchair basketball players of the BG Baskets Hamburg take part in project days at schools to convey the topics of integration and inclusion in a fun way. Thanks to Aurubis’ support, it’s possible to offer so-called “Inclusion Days” at elementary schools in Hamburg and the surrounding area. Aurubis provides new sports wheelchairs and assumes the costs for the expanded offering of events. During the project day, the students learn not only how to move in the wheelchairs, but even how to take part in athletic activities. In this way, they experience firsthand what limitations, but also what possibilities, people using wheelchairs have.
Straightforward offerings to break down barriers early on – this contributes significantly to allowing everyone to participate in society. This project aligns with Aurubis’ values of fairness and cooperation.
