By participating in the Specialised Forum Innovation Explorer 2025, the company confirmed its commitment to innovation, sustainability and reducing the industry's carbon footprint. "Extreme World" - this was the motto of the eleventh edition of Innovation Explorer - a forum for innovation and a better future. Leading experts, international speakers and technology enthusiasts outlined trends in the fields of technology, AI, climate change and the role of industries in sustainable development.  Nikolay Nedelchev, Head of Technical service and Development at Aurubis Bulgaria, outlined the inseparable link between metals and the innovations of the future: 'Copper is the backbone of modern technology and digitalization, but the most important are the people who make it the engine of innovation. A survey of our employees across the Group showed that it is the pursuit of innovation that has united and motivated us for 150 years. Our mission is not just to produce metal, but to lead the industry towards a more sustainable future."

Martin Katinov, the company's Energy Projects Manager, elaborated on the copper thread of technological advances in the afternoon discussion on "Global Warming and Strategies".

He clarified that "our mission is to produce copper in a sustainable way". Aurubis Bulgaria's strategy includes production with a minimal carbon footprint, implementation of energy efficient technologies such as gasification and switching to hydrogen.

The company has already built three photovoltaic parks with a capacity of more than 20 MW and plans to double this capacity by the end of the year with the building of a fourth solar park.

Martin also gave interesting examples of the company's work in the circular economy. The waste heat that is produced from the manufacturing process is used to generate electricity. Iron silicate, which was previously a waste product, is now a certified product with wide application in construction.
Marin Katinov and Nikolay Nedelchev also shared their message to the curious people in the hall that innovation has a strategic advantage only in synergy with human talent and curiosity.

"Aurubis Bulgaria was again one of the main partners of the Innovation Explorer 2025 forum, which this year was held for the 11th time.
