"Aurubis Bulgaria honors students in the second annual Economics Education Awards

"Aurubis Bulgaria for the second consecutive year supported and participated in the presentation of the Economics Education in Secondary Schools Awards 2024. At the ceremony held at the University of Insurance and Finance (VUZF) in Sofia, the company presented two major and one special award in the Student of the Year category. The winners received a 100% scholarship for their first year of their undergraduate program at VUZF.

On behalf of Aurubis Bulgaria, the awards were given by Yanka Zaharieva-Koleva, Manager Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding and Polina Markovska, Senior Communications Specialist at the company.

The first award was given to Viktor Kirov, a student in 12th grade of the National Trade and Banking School (NTBG) - Sofia. The second grand prize was given to Nelina Chinarska, a student of 12th grade of the Nevrokop High School "Dimitar Talev" in the town of Gotse Delchev. 
The special prize was given to Anastasia Mileva, a student of 12th grade of "Velizar Peev" Professional school in Svoge.

The national competition for the 2024 Annual Prizes for Economics Education in Secondary Schools, organized by VUZF, the Bulgarian Teachers' Syndicate at the KNSB and the National Association of Economics Teachers, was held from 10 October 2024 to 10 January 2025. It was attended by 11th and 12th grade students, as well as over 60 teachers and principals. The competition was supported by Aurubis Bulgaria, Asarel-Medet AD, Dundee Precious Metals, Geotechmin Ltd and other partners.
