The Medical Center in the town received modern ultrasound equipment The new mobile digital system meets all modern requirements for ultrasound of abdominal organs, kidneys and thyroid gland. The building of the Medical Center was as well renovated with new windows.

The opening event was attended by the Mayor of Pirdop municipality Angel Gerov, the Executive Director of "Aurubis Bulgaria" Tim Kurt, the manager of the Medical Center Dr. Plamen Stoyanov, the Chairman of the Municipal Council Vasil Kafedzhiev, the deputy mayors Maria Shentova and Ivan Shtaplev, medical specialists, Draga Sapundzhieva, Ivaylo Georgiev. The manager of the medical center Dr. Plamen Stoyanov said that the new equipment will help for better accuracy of the diagnostics and will significantly facilitate the work of the medical specialists.

Aurubis Bulgaria also provided fundings for the renovation of the field of the municipal stadium . The sports field has a new natural grass surface and a modern automatic irrigation system. New football goal and benches with canopies for the substitutes have been installed. Sports fens and supporters of healthy lifestyle have been eager to see the renovated stadium, which now meets the requirements for hosting matches and tournaments both at regional and national level. The renovation of the sports facility will continue next year with additional improvements.
