  • With the Women4Metals initiative, Aurubis opens up opportunities for women to develop their own talents in the metals industry

"At Aurubis Bulgaria, in one of the most interesting, but perhaps also the most challenging departments, women work equally with men - this is R&D (Research and Development). All the women are engineers and have PhDs, which is a proof that when a woman believes in herself she can achieve a lot," said Dr. Eng. Emanuela Manolova, Business Development Manager - Iron Silicates at Aurubis Bulgaria and face of the Women4Metals initiative in Bulgaria during the conference on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Ladies Forum Association.

The forum, which this year was titled "The power of diversity: to change stereotypes", was opened by Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Gabriel and Diana Miteva, chairwoman of the "Ladies Forum" association.

The guest of honor at the conference was the European Commissioner for Equality, Helena Dali, who in her opening speech presented to the participants of the forum the European requirements and legislative initiatives to overcome the challenges related to discrimination and stereotypes.

"The women of Srednogorie region, where the Aurubis plant is located, have long known about the development opportunities that we and other heavy industry companies in the region offer," added Dr. Eng. Emanuela Manolova, who spoke about the Aurubis initiative Women4Metals, aimed at promoting equality, inclusion, teamwork and professional development.
