  • The company contributes the best film award at the only International Documentary Festival in Eastern Europe

In February and March took place the 8th edition of the Master of Art festival. Aurubis Bulgaria was a partner of Eastern Europe's only international film festival for documentaries about art, and the grand prize for the best film was named after it: the “Master of Art - Aurubis Award”.

This year the festival presents over 50 documentary features and shorts in the categories of Architecture, Design and Fashion, Fine Arts, Music and Dance, Literature, Photography, Theatre and Cinema, Contemporary Art and Art and Power.

The selection has been carefully curated by the Master of Art creator Nayo Ticin.

The “Grand Master of Art - Aurubis Award” went to the documentary “Truman and Tennessee: An Intimate Conversation" (directed by Lisa Imordino Vreeland), which is a candid portrait of two luminaries of American literature - Truman Capote and Tennessee Williams.

The festival's program, which runs until 8 March, features titles such as “Charlie Chaplin: The Genius of Freedom” (directed by Yves Jeulan), which is the first film dedicated to Chaplin to be made entirely from archival material. Another interesting title is "My Name is Alfred Hitchcock" (directed by Mark Kazans), dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Alfred Hitchcock's first movie – “Number 13”. The documentary about the extraordinary life and career of the influential Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace, "The Genius of Gianni Versace" (directed by Salvatore Zanino), also was part of the festival program.

For all cinema lovers among its employees, Aurubis Bulgaria provided tickets for the film projections in Sofia.

The festival is organized with the support of Aurubis Bulgaria, National Palace of Culture, embassies and international cultural institutes, National Film Center, America for Bulgaria Foundation, Culture Program of the Sofia Municipality.
