Lead-Antimony Litharge

The elements lead and antimony are applied in flame retardants on circuit boards and are used in the fireworks, paint, catalyst, and battery industries.

Lead-antimony litharge – like lead-bismuth alloy – is used as starting material that is refined into its individual elements. The lead recovered in this process is used first and foremost in the battery industry. Antimony, a silvery, shiny, brittle semimetal, is used primarily to produce antimony trioxide, a flame retardant. Furthermore, antimony is a component of circuit boards in the electrical industry. Additional applications for antimony compounds include the paint, fireworks, and catalyst industries.

Both lead-bismuth alloy and lead-antimony litharge from Aurubis fulfill the REACH requirements.
